The Doctrine of Satan

The Bible is very clear on the teaching about Satan. Satan is a fallen angel some know as Lucifer who was the highest angel until his fall. He is now called many things including Satan, the devil, the tempter, a serpent, and the great dragon. Satan is an enemy of God and His people and all that is good. Lucifer was perfect before his fall when he thought he could God. Once he fell, Satan works to thwart God's plans and people in many ways.

Satan was defeated by Jesus Christ on the cross and the resurrection. God has judged Satan and he is a defeated enemy, although he is still working and appears to be winning in our world today. Satan cannot stop God's purposes or plans.
