To help you succeed as a leader, we make it as easy as possible. Everything you need to lead a group will be ready for you when you lead. All activities and videos will be ready for your use. We even create leader guides that you can use to prepare for the group. You can also use those guides throughout the group, so you always know what’s coming next and what you can say to best lead your group.
A typical Wednesday at Student Impact includes five sections:
Each of these sections provides an opportunity for you to build and deepen relationships within your group. Relationships are at the heart of everything we do. Without a relationship, it’s impossible to influence a student’s faith in a significant way. You can’t make a student own their faith. You can’t make a student join God on His mission. But you can build a relationship with that student that allows you to love and influence their faith.
Here’s how that plays out at SI groups.

- Leaders Arrive: Plan to arrive 15 minutes before serving. This will give you time to review the group resources and welcome each student as they arrive.
- Family Dinner: Each night at Student Impact, we share a meal, providing an opportunity for us to connect with one another. This Family Dinner time is a great chance to check in with your students to see how they are doing.
- Small Group: Each week, your group will also have a focused small group time together, where they learn from the Bible, engage in discussion, and answer application questions. Small groups will also pray together as a part of their group experience.
Some weeks will also feature a time of worship and large group teaching. On worship nights, gather your group to sit together. After worship and teaching, you will have time to connect with your group intentionally. - Outside Rec Time: Groups spend time hanging out and having fun together in our rec spaces. We do this to engage students' interests and have fun together. Leaders can engage in the fun or hang out near their group to ensure things are fun and safe for everyone.
- Home: At the end of the group, students will be dismissed to meet their families. As you head out and see students with their families, this is a great opportunity to meet their families and celebrate what God is doing in the lives of their students.
