A Sunday at Student Impact

To help you succeed as a leader, we make it as easy as possible.  Everything you need to lead a group will be ready for you when you lead.  Each week, you will receive a study guide that includes large group teaching notes along with the discussion and application questions that you will use in your discussion group.

A typical Sunday at Student Impact includes five elements:

  1. Leaders Arrive: Please plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to the worship service.  This gives you time to connect with your students as they arrive.

  2. Worship Service:  SI Sundays begin in the main worship services.  Students worship with their families or one another.   Students are released just before the message begins and move to their spaces.  This time of worship provides students with an opportunity to worship consistently and to remember that they are part of the church.

  3. Large Group Teaching:  The majority of teaching at SI Sundays is a blend of large group and small group learning.  A large group teacher will walk through the message of the day, giving time for group discussion throughout the experience.

  4. Discussion Group:  Discussion groups are a key part of our Sunday SI gatherings.  In discussion groups, students get to know one another and discuss what they are learning, exploring ways to apply it.  Conversations with students can go in many directions, so you will need to redirect the conversation often and celebrate the small wins as you see them grasp the truth.  As a part of the application and discussion time, your group will pray together. This is one way we model our relationship with God and lead students to trust Him.

  5. Home: At the end of the group, students will be dismissed to meet their families.  As you head out and see students with their families, this is a great opportunity to meet their families and celebrate what God is doing in the lives of their students.
As you lead your group, be intentional with each of these elements, and you will see your group connect, grow, and have fun together!
